S&M gear
« on: January 08, 2012, 08:31 PM »
Not the sort of thing that can be found in digglers dungeon but the bmx kind , more specifically a shield seat , 1" pitchforks and a redneck stem . Are these items difficult to source and how much ( roughly ) would you pay for these tings ?  :bondage:

There were 2 or 3 different thin shield seats and a few different designs of the fat ones.  :daumenhoch:

Should have made it clear Betty , I'm interested in buying not selling . Parts are for an early Holmes Alex , so I guess a slim seat ? I know the PA cranks may be a little bit tricky and probably expensive so will stick my old profiles on for now ( unless anyone has a cheapish set for sale ) Any help mucho appreciated  :daumenhoch:

Awww....  :(

Shield seats and PA cranks wouldn't be era correct for an early Holmes, 1" rednecks appeared in 92

PA cranks were 94 onward and shield seats from around 96, as Alex says there were a few designs and sizes in the few years they were produced

What year is your Holmes?

Any pics?....  :)

An early Holmes in my mind would be wearing tatty (in a good way) but strong eighties parts as these would have been plentiful and cheap, single pinch redlines, Profile box cranks (later ones) beaten up hutch stem (this is all in my mind of course)
Possibly a tuff up front too.

infact fook it, Aerospeeds :D

Whats the matter Kid, don't ya like clowns? Don't we make you laugh? Aint we fukkin funny?

I went with a TNT stem and GT seat on mine, but a few other era incorrect bits and bobs (mainly cos I couldn't find an S&S chainwheel and as I was gonna ride the bugger didn't want to shell out on period correct tyres :)

Ta again Alex :) No rush fella - I put my Fit Eddie V3 back together after SBD had changed it into a 'rastablaster'  :D so am back out riding that now.

Never got on with the S&M seats meself - preferred a good hemorrhoid betwixt cheeks, or something covered in gaffa tape ;)

That's the one , pity about those daft brake mounts as the rest of the chrome Is lush . I was going to hack them off and powder the frame but the chrome is so good I may just cover the scabby bit with a decal . I thought at under £ 60 it was worth a punt and as I am selling my gt xl race f+f and my free agent flying fortress , I can replace them both with this bugger .

Here are some pics of the S&M seats Ive got.

I think this was the first S&M seat. I had 2 NOS one of these but i HATE NOS stuff so I they moved on. Much happier with this used one.
I think they also did one without the padded bit at the back but I dont have one of those.

Very similar seat to the GT drop nose, but with small shields. It took me a while to find one of these.

The 2 early FAT seats. One Full-colour, one Black/white/grey.

The newer FAT "hot seat". Slightly smaller than the older FAT seat. In all-black and black with grey front/back

And the Current Thin seat, which also comes in some different colours.

Na, no clue. Like I said, I never used any of those thin seats when they were out.
The first S&M seat i used was the newer all black Fat seat.
