I know there has been a spate of lovely Gen 1/1.5/2 on here over the last month, but i finally got mine to exactly the spec i wanted.

This is exactly the bike I would have built back in 1983 if i could have picked whatever i wanted from the BMX mags that i read.
To say I am pleased with it is an understatement, not that bothered if its not to everyones taste but i love it.

1983 Haro Gen 1.5/2 Freestyler

Skyway Graphite Tuffs on Whitewall tyres

thats lush! but theres no way you would have specced $hit tyres like those back in the day, if youve got panaracers - stick them on and bin the halfords whitewalls! :)

sorry bud, but i would have, i used to love my whitewalls back in the day, it was the "fashion". Its only the fact of what we know now (IMO) that means i would put the Panaracers on.

Jim, that is stunning mate  :smitten: Kenda whitewalls were THE MUST HAVE accessory back in '82 - '84 when we were riding freestyle  :4_17_5:  Top notch tyre and looked the nuts when the walls were white as...

Sugino chainrings have the recess on the rear of the bolt hole to allow for the back of the chainring bolt to slot into it when in use so you didnt damage the 'slot' that helps to hold it while doing up the bolt  :daumenhoch:

Depending on your Crank, Spider and rear hub setup (freewheel, coaster, cassette) was where you needed to place your chainring to keep in line the chain  :coolsmiley:  :daumenhoch:

Im quite well aware of all that gumpf, it just looks $hit IMO.
The spider is recessed specifically so that a chainring sits on correctly at the front. Chainring bolts have slots on the rear specifically so you can do them up regardless of if you have a recess on the chainring :)
