BMX Book - Don smith's "Ride it! BMX"
« on: December 08, 2011, 12:00 AM »
Long shot Chaps...
Trying to see if anyone's scanned this book I had before I even had a BMX of my own...

It's the BMX Book by Don smith's (RIP) "Ride it! BMX", which I studied like the bible everyday until I could afford a BMX bike of my own (Yep, Grifter boy)...
Anyone got thIs on PDF...?  :daumenhoch:

I got the book itself, can bring to manc National and you can scan it.

Trivia.  My workshop was Don's workshop many moons ago.

When Don aproached us whilst we were riding at hollow ponds in 1978 we thought he was a bit strange, then he brought a full suspension bike for us to try out 'DS SPRINGER' (it sucked but was way ahead of its time)

One of the riders featured in the book gave up bmx right after the book was published, he has just started riding bmx again and shared the gate with you at Braintree on a wednesday eve last summer.

Useless trivia, but trivia  ;)

I've got the book and a working scanner. If there's any particular pages that you need just let me know but I don't have time to scan the whole thing.

There are 2 versions of Don Smiths book.

Both the same apart from the covers.

I never got around to scanning it.

My Buddy Sean Pitts, known him since we were 9, started bmx with him but he gave up real early even before the first Buckmore park races

He became British and world champ in Karting in the 90's and then got into DH mountainbiking with me and raced for years, now back into bmx planning on doing Nationals and worlds next year..  :Great_Britain:
