Another boring BMX ID thread
« on: December 05, 2011, 09:39 PM »
Evening lads, A few week ago I was talking to a mate about getting a BMX after 15 years of not owning one,  few days later his work mate rang and offered me Redline!

He started to tell me that the BMX was a totally original 80's twin top tube but was missing the breaks and needed some attention, that didn't bother me as I thought I was on to a winner  :P  had a picture in my head of it being some thing like a 80's Haro Freestyler  :coolsmiley:

Was a bit disappointed when this turned up  :'(

The code is YC98AC0285

Ive had a look about the Internet for some info on this as Im after knowing what year and model it is, or if its worth fixing up but couldn't find any thing or just wasn't looking in the right places so thought Id ask the gurus  :daumenhoch:

Any help is much appreciated  :)

It's a 1998 Ruption LX (wheels, bars sprocket and pedals aren't OG) and alright it's not chromo, but it wasn't the bottom of the Ruption range then. If you didn't pay too much for it, clean it up, rattle can the forks/bars etc and you've got yourself a mid school run around :)

Payed 50 notes for it so might just bang a few parts on and use it for a bit

Any ways made a start and took the stickers off, moved the bars forward and binned the pegs

Will be adding new bars, lay back post and will change seat too so should start to look half decent soon

It's a good solid 90's bike.  Will ride well and do the job.

Forks are Redline, from the RL240.
