I am curious as to why manuals and tyre taps would shear a brake mount though

what caused em to snap/crack imho is when i do rocket tyre tap barspins etc, all 14 stone of me is landing on the pegs from around 1ft out of the ramp onto the deck with the brake locked, pushing the brake arms forward away from the mounts, now i do that one trick 9-10 times a session, 2-3 sessions a week and over a 11 month period, it pulls the mount away

what also hasnt helped is running clear pads, they have no slip, they lock on solid, now running black blocks and it feels much better, not as snatchy (nice word!)

now if i was running chainstay mounts then i woudlnt have this problem as the arms would be pushing down onto the mounts not trying to pull away from them

i know the seat looks shite but padded ones last 5 mins with me

Did You go for a 20.5" t/t? I thought I remembered You posting something about getting a shorter frame.

it puzzles me that you got yet another dirtbike with seat-stay brake mounts, if you like doing rocket taps and manuals why not just order one with chain-stay brake mounts?

and why would moeller keep sending frames that were destined to break?

will you continue doing rocket taps on this frame?

i genuinely am just curious :-\

if i wanted chainstay mounts then i would have to order a custom at full price which is around £500 inc shipping but not including import tax!!!

i emailed moeller explaining what had happenend, i was expecting him to say that as the frame was already a warranty replacement there was nothing he could do or he might have offered me a new frame on their crash replacement policy, which basicly means if u snap or badly damage a s&m frame which is out of warranty and you can prove you are the original purchaser then they will sell u a new frame at a discounted price to keep u on a s&m

chris came back to me and said that he had chatted to 4down and they had agreed as im a long term customer that they would give me a new frame free of charge, which i was/am very grateful for!!!!!!

i will carry on doing rocket tyre taps, things seem better now with a different brake and pads but only time will tell, if it goes again it goes again, then ill order a custom frame with chainstay mounts
