Modified MRD on junior GT...
« on: November 26, 2011, 10:34 AM »
As ya took the p*ss out of the 'giant' mini MRD plate, gonna make a new one. Scanned the original red/gold one and had a quick play in photoshop at work yesterday. A couple of inches shorter and new colour schemes. Rough first stage, any preference/thoughts??

Look away now Tim............   ;D

It's just a quick mock up paper print stuck on a bit of card (Blue Peter style) to get an idea of colour ways before I sort the artwork out and have a vinyl printed.   :daumenhoch:

Fook me how huuuge are those plates !  :LolLolLolLol:

Only kiddin mate  ;D Looks far more in proportion now  :daumenhoch:

Can't decide which I like better though  :-\

Think maybe the top one just shades it on overall colour balance for the build perhaps ?  ???

How will you actually make it then ? Some sort of thin plastic/nylon cut out with vinyl decals on ?  ???#

Ya fecker!!!   ;D

Thought you might tell me how I'm gonna make it!!   :P   Think I've got the rivets sorted, velcro no problemo, bet the problem's gonna be finding the right kind of bendy plastic/nylon/acrylic to cut to shape??

If all else fails, I'll trim the original down to size, remove the rivets and slap on the new decal.

Having said all that, lookin thro some old mags, all the plates look quite large on the bikes with real diddy bars.   :P

Hmmm - I've wondered about the material to use myself as there's a plate I want to make up that I know will never come up for sale  :(

Let me know what you find  ;)

Wouldn't trim down the original though  :(

Hang it on the wall  8)
