HARO Gen1 freestyler
« on: November 24, 2011, 04:31 PM »
Ok, this is my latest one, been in the pipes for like 3 years..

For those who enjoy a bit a music while browsing on here:
 ;)

This was my absolute grail when I started collecting Haro's a few years ago.. Finally got at least one example of each year between 84-88 while I was watching the Gen1 prices raise and raise...
I got very lucky in 2008 sourcing a nice used one in Germany.

I knew I wanted it a bit different from the usual Bob rep version, although I always enjoy seeing another one.
My intention was to keep it 83/84 era correct.. using quite the usual parts but with a color twist.

About the brakes... well that's probably the first Gen1 build you see with knock off DC brakes  :LolLolLolLol: but I knew since I bought these green brakes in 2006 (for more than the real deal at the time! Remember MX1000 and Tech 3 were going cheap) were they would end, on a Haro to match the green decals. Aren't they cute, those green levers?

Parts list:

Haro Freestyler F+F serial TKK 3233F, original chrome
Wheels: Skyway alloy flange hubs, coasterbrake
Tyres: Schwinn Predator
Cranks: Redline flights
Pedals: restored Shimano DX
Bars: Vector Bob Haro w/ Haro flexfighter
Grips: Oakley B2
Brakes: Formos MX 1000/Tech 3 levers
Seat: Shot Gun II
Seatclamp: Tange

Thanks for looking

Nice bike! Like the way it's a bit different too, and the copy mx's don't matter either, I have them on my haro, all the best haro's have them on ;)

Cheers guys, that old warehouse is near Libourne station (if that makes any sense to you  ;))
I already shot a few bikes there, love this place... Had to climb fences this time, can't see it last too long now  :(

(You might have seen this already)
