Below are some photos of my 24" CW Phase 1 Cruiser (Replica) build.  But first here's a bit a background waffle:  In 1979 Roger Worsham owned a bike shop called Coast Wheels, in California.  Roger then started a BMX manufacturing company in the early 80's which became CW Racing.   In 1983 or 1984 CW made the Z frame as a goof for a trade show. The response was so great they decided to produce a limited number.  The 20" version is quite rare.  The 24" is much rarer, as only 40 are rumoured to have been produced.  Of that 40 most never made it out of the factory or were quickly recalled due to the welds at the Z failing. Currently, only 3 are known to exist, serial numbers 01, 03 and 07.  Serial number 01 is still owned by the original owner and 03 and 07 are in a private collections and neither owner currently has any plan to sell.

So what do you do when you can't score a 24" CW Phaze 1 from the 1980s?   Build a better, stronger one.  Four of these Repro 24” Phaze 1 frames were built in 2006.  They're based on a Revco 24" frame, Revco being CW's sister company.  With modern tubing and welds, this bike is touted as quite a bit stronger than the original.  Who built it?  I honestly don't know.  They say the welder, now the owner of a well-known BMX mfg., prefers to remain anonymous...out of the spotlight of potential requests for more custom frames.

1985 CW Pistol Pete

I've been after one of these for some time now :smitten:

My rider is a ZX-3 which has a very similar frame but doesn't have the coveted PPP### serial number.

Thats a lovely CW, I see its originally from OT Cycles in Dartford, I just picked up a CW PP resto which was originally from OT also, however I had to remove the decal for a re-chrome, I know OT cycles they have been around for years, I might just pop in and see if they have any old decals laying about??  ;)
