I think they could go back as early as 80  :-\

They were originally called Comp Stadium tyres and were used for indoor racing. Since they worked well on this surface, I guess they were marketed at freestylers  ???

The early ones had a yellow Comp II stamping. I guess the more commonly found 'Comp ST' would've come out 84ish?

Hmm the Comp II stadium you 'd guess about 81 ish like you say  because of the logo style and indoor racing purpose ( no connection to Freestyle as Freestyle was still in it's birth stages pre 82), but the re -invented  Ramp branded ones are a similar style colour logo to the ST's so you'd guess the Ramps to be relesed very close to the ST  maybe a year before or after  possibly ,,, again just calculated guessing
Plus those colours of Comp Ramps on the Museum thread are pink andlavender ,, unheard of doing that colour of tyre till 83/84 onwards  :)

I'd say you're spot on. The only differentiating feature between the ramps and ST's is the bold section in the middle. And going on the logo, I'd say 84ish would be about right..  :)

I remember My mate getting the comp ramps around '86 I think, I hadn't seen any before then. They were great for flatland & didn't wear out as fast as the st's.

There's a post in the Tyres thread in the Tech and Resto stickies that shows the years, etc.  The search function can be a really useful tool ;)

We know that - we were looking into the Stadium as it pre-dated both the ST and ramp. That way, we can kind of see where the ramp became available. Otherwise it's all guess work. At least with the adverts we can see when they were in fact advertised, and form a more educated answer. Rather than merely stating 'I think they were 84'.

No need to be a cock  :daumenhoch:

OK, found the above ad (with ST, RAMP & Pool) in Nov 86 issue of bmx action.... prior to that Tioga ads only showed ST's

The comp pools are in the Oct 86 product guide of action bike but not the RAMPS's so I guess its fair to say they were first released in November 1986 :)

heres another from later in 87:
