Right chaps, if you had a £600-ish budget and had to buy a new school ride (pre-built) which one would you buy and why? whether its for good parts or just looks it doesnt matter..

your choice really... but street & park i suppose, not dirt or race...this is a round about way to give me some ideas for when i have the funds to buy a new school ride, but i thought it would be interesting too see what you lot think of whats about at the moment..

With that kind of budget, you really need to get to a decent shop and try some out and find the right geometry for you, then haggle the price a bit.

Lots of great completes out there for 600 notes, though.

WTP all the way or maybe a Fit .The Fly`s are OK but not all cromo.I`ve seen first hand a good few Verdes cracked or snapped.

United Supremes are that sort of money and they're pretty decent.

You have no idea how much it pains me to say that....

Also, Stodgy has done some customs for that budget recently. A high end frame with special offer or sale components on. Well worth it. Give him a ring, have a chat. You never know what's coming along.

Id be looking at a 2011, maybe 2010, as the 2012 bikes are out now.

Fit are my `gut feeling' bikes this week. WTP are old hat, Sunday are good, but the kids like em too much. Verde knock some decent stuff out too.

TBH £600 will get you loads of bike, they are all made in the same place, so try a few out and pick a nice looker.

I'd buy a 2nd hand custom for £200 and take my wife away for a weekend with the £400 left over.

Im well pleased with my 2011 FIT Inman 2 purchase. I very nearly went for one of the United Supremes though.

As mentioned have a look at some of the 2011 bikes, there are bargains out there now the '12 stuff is in the shops
