Here you are mate

The cable comes from the gyro and around the seat post-some bikes have a hole through but these don't.The saddle cable joins up the two arms and then the cable from the gyro clamps on to that.It helps if you've got one of those tools that holds the blocks against the rim as you fit the cables but not vital.Just connect all the cables up with the adjusters in and then you can wind them out when it's all connected up.Hope this helps mate-I'd never done one either but they do work well when set up right  8)

it's almost there, but not quite correct.
the straddle cable hanger should actually be using a longer cable and should be positioned on the other side of the seattube (in front of it).

this way, you won't get the paint scraped off by the cable from the gyro, nor will you be losing any braking effort with the cable rubbing against the seattube...

hope this helps.

Bp.

should'nt you join up that bit in front of the seat tube ?.
the cable from my brake fits on the brake with the hoop in front of the seat tube.

looks at os boy's last night it was flexing the frame (not uncommon)

on the front the tektro seems ok. thicker tubes . . .

needs to be like this.....make the straddle sit in front of the seat tube, and 'straddle' around it....you will end up garotting your frame like that.

Get them bars pulled back a bit too Paul, they should follow the line of the forks, you don`t need to have them as far forward as the old school bikes as the frames is longer  :daumenhoch:
I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,

They put Tektro brakes on these bikes? They're only trimoly?
I'm glad you guys like them, I definitely don't.

now ive stop laughing  ;D

ok guys im very disapointed in the quality of ya workmanship. if you all wanted to know how it works why did ya not ask a proffessional mechanic.

this is how it goes boys and girls. that black piece of plastic is not a packing piece.

from ya own and one and only wolfy

Wolfie.....  Not that I want to piss on your chips,  but even though I know your setup is factory correct,  I far prefer the setup the others have shown. Its how i run my brake, and always will.  There are no frictional losses, whereas with your setup as the lever is pulled the frictional losses are compounded as the straddle tries to garrot the seattube.

Also,  I would space the blocks so as to allow a wider gap between brake arms;  helps with the old leverages a bit.

Just my tuppenceworth......   ;)

my mirra came with that criss-cross set up and didnt work at all, thats why i went for that bigger straddle, as the factory one was just letting the cables rub the paint off the frame, never a good idea...but when i went for the more direct route(not criss cossed) my brakes seemed to work spot bollock on.
