Back on the ramps after a 20+ years
« on: November 15, 2011, 08:18 PM »
Well ive been back into BMX for 4 years now ive enjoyed collecting and restoring some nice bikes and the only time they are used is for little rolls around the street to and from work and the odd off road trail. But now we have a new skate park in town and the boy keeps getting me to take him over there on he's BMX or scooter i would love to show him how do simple stuff droppping in and 180 turns on the quarter pipe but the fact that ive not done it for 20+ years i darent as its always packed and i dont wanna make an arse of myself  :-[ then today i remebered there is a lil skate park just 3 mins ride from my work so im gunna stuff a bike in the car tomorrow and in my lunch break im off to to make an arse of myself alone  :) i wont lie im sh!tting it, funny i had ne fear as a kid but now  :-\

Damm it's gunna be like learning to bloody walk again.

The main thing is to have fun mate.
You aren't going to enter the x games (this year) so just get some kickturns, carving and sub-coping ariels on the go!

Also get along to a RAD meet if you get the chance.  We have the whole park to ourselves, and there are plenty of folk who can give you pointers.  Or point and laugh if you fall off :D

Where are you then? There's the RadBMX christmas bash at Terminal One in Melton Mobrary (Leicestershire) in mid Dec that will be a great introduction as it's a bit of a social as well. Come alon and we'll look after you and give you some advice and encouragement which is 90% of what you need - the last 10% is a pair of balls to just go for it!
