There's only so many wanks you can have when you have time on your hands, polishing fills in the gaps
I'm not into the bling much, but it whatever floats your boat..it wrong to say they have been messed up, because most of what we do is restore before shine - just because it has a mirror shine does not mean it cannot be painted, anno or chromed again later to get it back to a factory finish. In most cases polishing it helps this process.
i like to see parts restored back to how they were.after all your restoring it
less polishing = more riding

I have a NOS Hutch Aerospeed Powerdisc in Blue anno which i'm never gonna use but trying to find another one in any colour or Chrome is a mission so do i strip the NOS blue one and re anno / Chrome or go without and use something else which wouldn't go quite as well on the bike?
