Need information about Universal bmx's

Hi guys i have just got a hold of what i belive to be a 1979 Universal speed bmx.

I cant seem to find much information about this company, does anyone have one of these bikes or any info so i can start trying to source parts and pictures of what it used to look like.

I will get pics up when i get the bike delivered.

Universal were a bike company (UK, I am sure) making all sorts of bikes - shoppers and the like (kids bikes) and 10 speeds I think.

They made some low end BMX stuff in the early 80's
I remember kids round my way riding them.

Didn't realise they made BMX's in the 70's though.

Do you think it is just going to be a rubbish bike and should i just not bother with it?

Cool it only cost me £25 for the full bike. i dont think the guy knew what it was.

Maybe there is another Universal BMX.  But the one I remember was like "petrol station" bikes, if you know what I mean.
My first bike was a petrol station bike.  I ruled on that.

Yea i dont think its a really rare frame but it could make a nice bike when finished.

There was a kuwahara copy distributed by apollo in the early 80's, though I think the only thing kuwahara was the stickers, a low end budget bike I think.
