Chain to short.

How do i make my chain longer as i got a new chain and i took off to many links and now its to short?

Reverse what you did - if you used a chain tool pop the required amount f links back on. Make sure when you have that the pins all move freely - if they don't you'll need to move them in/out a small amount.

Or if you did the chain shortening mid-school style with a brick and 6" nail, it's a bit more difficult ;)

A little bit of info about me, My name is Neil i'm 29(just) and i own a shop restoring old bmx's so i think i should fit in here lol. I have been riding bmx's since i was about 4, i love flatland and just messing about doing tricks.


You own a shop restoring old BMXs. Surely you've put chain links in before?  :-\

Yea i was just wondering if anyone had a better and faster way to do this.

S&MAlex any time i have done this i have just used another chain but i dont have another one this colour to hand and i dont want to buy a new chain as it will eat into profits which today are getting difficult to keep hold of lol.
