« on: November 07, 2011, 07:54 PM »
got a few more bikes this year so old ones in shed, some in spare room but 2 or 3 in loft.loft is fully boarded so i can work up there but will the bikes stand up to the cold harsh winter?

got full bike covers on them then blankets/covers on top of them and same with my spare wheels, will i find just a pile of rust in the new year? :(  ;D

cheers guys any info would be good :daumenhoch:

Can't see a problem with storing in a boarded loft  :daumenhoch:

Whereas a shed or even worse a garage aren't the best .

If you have to use outdoor storage ,,, keep a check  every week to wipe em down and cover with a dust sheet (breathable ) rather than polythene or plastic sheet to keep frost off , stop condensation too leading to rust .

Don't forget to lightly WD or light oil any bare metal parts.  :)
