They are genuine. The seller is Howie Cohen of Everything Bicycles, the original 80's US Kuwahara Distributor who supplied the bikes for the film.

Howie has confirmed that Kuwi my pal has is genuine and something of a prototype from the kz series. Based on that it could be making its way to the UK
