the only way ive ever fpund is to toe them in or out, by a degree or two, also making sure the brake mechs are lubed up really wel and all tightened up correctly so there is no judder when you brake, I had a set of dc 1020's that squealed like a cat, changed the pads and they still squealed, stripped and rebuilt the calipers and it stopped

ran some batchelor pads for a bit on the sport , had to use a 3-4 mm of toe in as the pads compress so much ,  the sticky red pads shimano i think are not as bad,    in the end i went back to a set of old tuff pads no squeek and they work  :daumenhoch:

If You're using those clear pads I think You're stuck with it, they all seem to honk.

Using black odyssey slimbyfour pads ,I already have them toe'd in using the 10p coin as a shim.
I have used the clear pads which were even worse.

Is it a high pitched clean Squeel, or more of a Shuddering vibrate? Ive found that the vibration part of the noise can be down to loose/worn brake arms on the brake mount. Try putting a bit of plumbers PTFE tape over the brake mounts before you fit the brake arms.

What Alex said.

Some arms are loose as hell on the lugs, it's no wonder they vibrate under load.

Thanks for that, will try the ptfe tape as I recall the rear fly brake arms were loose on the lugs when I fitted them, also when I think about it its the rear brake that squeels the fronts not bad, also the front was a new brake the rear was a used Fly.

Fly brakes are the worst for making noise.

I have a AD999 I can put on if need be which is a better brake in my opinion (already running a 999 on the front), I used the fly on the rear as it had more tyre clearance.

try cleaning the brake blocks with isopropyl alcohol and give them a quick rub with some fine sandpaper  :daumenhoch:
and toe them in when on the caliper

Can you still get the straight armed 999s for the front? I never seem to see them anywhere. I have a wonky one ont rear and it's a treat, I really like em.

I think customriders still have them, not easy to get either of the 999's now, I bought a few from cyclesport when they were selling them off dirt cheap. great brakes
