dont get one stick with the original gen 1. Its just some big company toying with your nostalgic feelings. Why buy a copy its not even like Bob Haro owns it anymore.

Eh? We asked for it in a previous thread!

Haro have listened to their customers are fulfilling our request - they are not trying to replace the Gen 1 (nothing can), they are just honoring it's place in BMX history. I'm all for it.

All companies, regardless of size, are in business to make money - but Haro can do that by producing mainstream BMX's and Mountain bikes...they are doing this one for the love of it and to not forget the people who put them where they are today.

Jeff, I do understand your cynical thoughts, but I do think Haro's heart is in the right place on this one.

 :)

for the limited numbers of the new gen one, i doubt they will make that much, thinking about it.

Fair enough...I agree with you on the mainstream stuff, but I do like the 06 Sport (not a great bike, but looks nice) and I ride a Premium (the top end stuff seems to do the trick)!

Thanks stodgy.
I posted here ages back asking opinion & Gen1 was the clear favourite so thats what I went back to them to suggest. Luckily enough they've listened....had it been up to them you guys woulda pissed your pants BUT they listened to the opinions, i even forwarded the threads on the subject from both here & vbmx, & they've gone with it which is a result in itself.
Hopefully the bike will meet expectations (but I highly doubt it), it will carry top end components & be full 4130 as requested. Its not meant to replace anything, its just a lil' nod to the OG itself........ & jeff, bob haro has more say in things than you would know......

I hope thats true. I have a very good friend and ex team mate that went on to ride for Haro up until 96 If I thought Bob had anything to do with Haro I would look at them in a different light. :daumenhoch:

After speaking to Terry Jenkins who lives in LA and hooks up with Bob from time to time I can confirm that Bob has nothing at all to do with Haro bikes. I can post Terrys email on here if anybody wants to see it .

It only confirms what I already knew and that is Haro bikes are trying to get the mid life crisis money out of ya  ;D ;D  Give it to them if it makes you feel better.

isn't that what this site is all about though, Jeff? mid life crisis money being spent? I mean RADBMX.co.uk 'the UK's best "OLD skool" bmx site'?

TBH i could give a monkeys uncle if Haro has anything to do with Haro Bikes and if they want to make a retro bike fair play to them.

I love the way that the positivness of this thread has been  knocked at every turn. seriously, checking up on what I said? fook. I am I liar? I guess to some I am. I have nothing to gain at all by any of this so why would I bullshit?
A large majority moaned like fook when the Haro Retro Sport came out so I took them moans & your opinons & used it towards making this new Gen1 a better bike than the Sport. Full cromo you say? Right. Crappy components you said? Right. all the moans, criticism's etc were noted & taken on board & the bike is coming along well. But it seems that it'll never be right for some people. I still cant believe that someone would make the effort to "phone a friend" to double check my claim. My very good friend is the BMX Brand Manager @ Haro, he rode for them BITD & has worked there & been friends with Bob for years so why on earth would he bullshit me either? I guess he's just a liar.
I think i will also call him later to ask why on earth a large company would tell an email enquirer to "piss off", thats strange.
I could go on forever but I wont, pointless.
Thanks for the time on the site Bill, its a great place but I dont think I'll be back.

DJ - It's not all of us dude! The majority of this site is still very interested in the new Gen 1.

Please keep us updated - as I think you'll find a lot of them finding homes with us.

Don't give up because of a couple of cynics.
