Finaly went to Hemel Hemstead XC park
« on: October 26, 2011, 11:55 AM »
Last night I went to Hemel Hemstead XC park. Pretty fun, the bowls are amazing!
It was kinda busy. It was meant to be Bike-only night but i guess that doesnt apply in half term.

I went up with 4 local Oxford riders, here's a little edit.

I know! They came out and told Matt he couldn't film without filling out a form, which they didn't even keep. He took it with him. So pointless

Oh TOTALLY! One of the things i noticed was the good lighting in there. Its all clean and new, no leaks in the roof or anything!  :daumenhoch:

One strange thing, the whole of the front wall is mesh. So its sort of .... outside. I hoping that someone has done their homework and the mesh is enough to keep the rain out. It was nice and fresh in there, and im guessing that the condensation problem that many indoor parks get in winter wont happen there. It might get a bit cold in winter but as long as its dry and light, you soon warm up when you ride.

Sounds like they may have worked it all out, unheated indoor parks are often colder in winter than the outside temp, corby has been colder inside than out the few times I've been.
Not sure we will see the mesh thing up north as a lot of our rain in winter is horizontal accompanied by a 80mph wind

We have a nice park at East Kilbride which is in a newly built sports complex which is open 7 days all year and fully heated. (and light)
