Bike ID - Magnum
« on: October 30, 2011, 08:56 PM »
A mate just dropped this round for me.

His brother in law's missus just moved house, and this was literally buried in the backgarden - just a pedal sticking out.

There is a little bit of rust, if you squint your eyes you can just about see it in places.

So, what is it?  Magnum, "Hi Carb" full aero frame and forks (even aero rear end!!).

apart from the decals thats identical to my Lew Ways Aero Stinger mate, distributed by Playway Toys Cannock W. Midlands ,Those drop outs are unique!! and an odd 28mm seatpost

Here's mine when i got it

here is the seatpost decal

Here it is after I resto'd it, never got round to having the decals printed, and noy my youngest rides it and its trashed

here's a good shot of the odd dropouts

That last picture of the rust looks like some sort of infection...

That's great Jaymz!
Yes I did notice the rear drops are a bit funky!

A local bike too.  Cannock is just up the road from me - I am in Stafford.

I am gonna get this sandblasted, and see what's under the mud / rust / barnacles.
It'll be a minter

You should get something like this underneath, welds are very smooth, but not ground down smooth

If you do it and dont want it to be a magnum, I have a full digital version of all the aero stinger decals i redrew you can have to get printed up

Thanks J

It's the bike that keeps on giving.

The forks have a little surface rust though.
As do the seatpost and handlebars.

And brakes.

The crank aint so great either.

And the frame has suffered a little.
