Mini Californian Rep
« on: November 07, 2012, 11:32 PM »
Having built a Mongoose Californian earlier this year I thought I'd better built a little one for my lad. I'd been looking for a mitygoose for ages but one never came up for sale...

I spotted a mini chrome looptail which turned out ot be a Peugeot CPX-50 16" and thought that would be a good base. Shortly after picking it up, a 'real' mitygoose came up on ebay - sods law!  It cleaned up really well.

Here is the 1st pic of the build

The chrome is really good and I love the geometry of the frame. Unlike a mini burner, the slung top tube allows Daniel to touch both feet on the floor so he can ride this one as soon as it's build  :D

Crank assembly and chain fitted:

With fresh decals and the padset I nicked from it's bigger brother until I get a mini set made up.

Getting there...

Now with the brakes fitted and a spare mongoose padset (until I get a cali one made). The skyways are mid refurbishment and the raleigh mags will be removed. I may even remove the chainring and polish the teeth like I did on the full sized one

The 80's Skyways are on and the build is complete... with the exception of gold kool caps, gold skyway decals and cali padset. I have a hinged DC seat clamp in the post for it too but could wait any longer to get the pics up as the sun was out this afternoon  8)

It's a bit pic heavy, but there are some of it alongside the full sized version towards the bottom. Enjoy  :D
