Hoffman Taj Build
« on: October 18, 2011, 06:42 PM »
I just acquired a Hoffman Taj & am after parts and stickerset for the frame.
Its 1 1/8 headtube, what colours did they come in as I'm getting it powder-coated?

Do you know what year Taj it is? - pre mid '97 they came in black, that classic baby blue, chrome and I think (although might be wrong) a fawn colour.

Was it the white one on t'bay? If so that's a post mid '97 - will have a butchers through some of me Rides for colours.

Decal wise - 97's have the old TAJ decals - think there's someone over in the states on the Museum that re-pops them - later it's the Deebo decals (although there's some crossover).

Parts-wise - if you want it 'complete' correct, then you need Hoffman Gack hubs (the later ones if post 97), High Roller rims (the Hoffman Generator rims are the same rim),
Super forks & stem, Hoffman Jumping bars, AD990's front and rear, Hoffman seat post and clamp.

It's a well used white one but from another forum, looks like it has jumping bars and a pair of pitchforks?
Think it's a 96-97

i presume its the one off of bmxforum.co.uk

if so then its a taiwan made taj as it has the hb stamp in the gusset and has the short gusset not the deebo's longer gusset

That's the same one that was on T'bay :)

I think there's two ways you can go - these are the decals you want for your gen of TAJ (although the one I've got of a similar date has OG TAJ decals but it's frame no. is 0001 - maybe using up the old stickers?):

If you go the OG route, I can take some pics of mine with a scale so you can get them re-popped (maybe ask Del on here if you want the piccies).

These are the Superforks you need (1 1/8" version for yours):

Ere are - just found a pic (not mine) of your model TAJ:

Seat's not OG, and for full '97 spec you'd need a pair of Hoffman Skidmark tyres :) Personally I'd bung some Primo Dirt or V- Monsters on it.

Hi Dan, Taj decal scans would be great.
Any idea how much it would cost for del to do the decals?

You'd have to ask Del fella  :daumenhoch:

I'll take some piccies (as the decals are on my bike) and get them over to you :)
