I have no idea what or why; however, the knowledge did come in handy when one of the guys had a rear puncture on a ride from Binbrook to Grimsby, which isn't the flatest road in the world!
And I apologise for owning an Aero too

We had this sort of fun this side of the channel too!!
Challenge was to take the fastest bends
We used to keep the front bike drive though
