Are you sure it's an R7000?  If I remember correctly, the R7000 (84) and R6000 (83) were all black chrome. The chrome ones were lower models. Also, the dropouts like on the copper R5000 were found on the factory riders frames here in the USA as well as the copper plating. The chrome frame may be R2500 CFS (tensile steel frame), or R4500 FS or R5500 FS (chromoly 502 main tubes).

Should be one of the ones I mentioned above 1984. In 84 they dropped the head badge for a sticker on the head tube. Also, the dropouts on the chrome frame are 84 model. In addition to the factory team frames, the production 83's also had the dropouts like the depicted R5000.

My cruiser is an R7000. They did it in three sizes
24"
20"FS full sized
20"SL superlite

Very nice to see you in the house mate and welcome to radbmx.uk.

Sorry for the thread resurrection but can anyone tell me the actual differences between the R7000 FS and SL framesets? Is the SL a mini/junior version of the FS and if so, how much smaller is it? Thanks in advance for any info. :daumenhoch:

Yes mate you got it, not sure on the exact size difference but the FS stands for Full Sized and the SL stands for Super Lite.
SL had 1.50 rims, 7"bars and a 165 cranck with 500 aero brake callipers
FS had 1.75 rims, 9"bars and a 175 crank with 800 aero brake callipers.

I think like the '83 'Super Squash' option on the frames (R4000, R2000) , the SL frame had a shor ter seat post tube making the geometry slightly different.

Glynn archived the 1983/84 raleigh racing catalogues over on Burnerworld and they have some info on the frame differences .....
