from a Blue Max to a Red Baron
« on: October 09, 2011, 12:02 PM »
Hey there folks,
I recently had a shot at a Blue Max.
Price was great, seattube had 2 not so little cracks.
I thought, perfect oppertunity for an idea I had for some time.
If you're into drag race, muscle cars, funny cars or show airplanes,
you will probably know the Red Baron.
 :)
And know where I am going with this.
Thought it would be a cool idea seen as the Mongoose and Blue Max are inspired
by also race dragsters and all...

Now when I got the blue Max frame the nickel was in a fantastic state actually.
And I love some good ol' nickel.
So had a hard time deciding.
And a candy coat would also be a good idea.
But as impatient as I can be, I decided to paint it myself and later be able to strip it when I please.

So on with the show:

I'll love how a frame looks in primer:

And after some color coats:

Fixed myself some decals and build up so far:
