Question is, which do you prefer 36 or 48 spokes

There is not a huge difference in strength
I use 36 spokes on my bikes

I intend to do alot of park stuff on them but not sure i like how cluttered the 48's look to the 36's

Just run decent modern higher pressure tyres on them and 36's will be fine ;-)

just comes down to personal taste really, i love 48's but 36's will give you more era correct choice
