One for the mods n peeps behind rad
« on: September 24, 2011, 03:32 PM »
I hope this doesn't cause a riot but I was wondering if the chaps behind this great site could put in to play a block user option so we an put an end to the abuse to innocent threads that lead to a full out n out slagging match

This would work for every user to then restrict this type of thing happening in the future and would give you guys more valuable time to get on with what you do best RUN RAD

This can be applied to the main areas of rad like chat, tech n resto, none Bmx talk
Or many even the whole site

I see that there is this type of option that's exists in block pm's from members you don't wish to receive them from
So it should be a simple and effective little solution to a boreing bitching competitions that crop up every now n again.

If users have. Gripe with one another then let it be sorted via pm or directly with mods

I know people like a good read of a bitching thread but the written word is a dangerous thing and as we know everyone has there own interpretation on what's written n sometimes you have to read things in a different manner to maybe get a better understanding of what's being said

Now like I said from the start I'm not trying to cause a riot with this idea and I'm sure people will comment on this subject and it will be great to hear peoples thoughts on the matter but let's keep it sensible as it's all for a greater rad

Peace

The very nature of a forum is open discussion and the freedom to voice your opinion.

Until it reaches a certain point.

A passionate bmx discussion with strong opinions for or against is always good though - it's the passion that keeps this going.

So long as it doesn't decend to threats or abuse then there is no problem, IMO.

Freedom to voice opinions is a great thing which as you say, keeps the passion and forums alive, forums would be extremely dull if everyone felt and thought the same.

Unfortunately as witnessed of late ........ more threads than ever are used as vehicles to abuse and threaten.

Not a bad idea at all in my opinion if it can be implemented, as I am sure it would help put a stop to all the nonsense that most people don't want to be reading.

Not seen this, except on the beard ebay burner thread. And that was a touchy subject to start with!

Maybe I don't read enough of the threads.

The Ruler has it pretty much spot on, if you don't agree or like what people write in one of your thread (or anyones thread for that matter) you can hit the 'report to moderator' button  :daumenhoch:

I hear you but it doesnt put a stop to it as the threads get way out of hand before mods step in hence the idea

no not at all i think users should just have the option and not have threads they start destroyed by other who dont like what they are doing-selling-saying-wanting n so on

just trying to possibly help fix a situation that is getting out of hand more and more of late

If you are genuine you have nothing to worry about....
Thing about this place is, people see things for what they are, its one of the finer qualities of the good ship Rad.

Expressing n opinion is one thing
Attacking and slagging people off is another
It's very clear and simple to see the difference

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

thing is you, you cant play both sides of the fence.

be a twat one minute, and then say 'boo hoo' people are being horrible to me.

just isnt cricket.

I honestly do understand your point though mr dayz, and the above isnt directed at you, as to be fair to you, you've been pretty diplomatic throughout.
