Haro Kneesavers question
« on: September 22, 2011, 01:33 PM »
As far as I can tell, there are 2 versions of the kneesavers.  Does anyone know if this is correct and what year they changed from first to second editions?

Thanks in advance you Haro types  :daumenhoch:

3 types

First type were freestyle, quite alot of back sweep with a low cross bar
Second, less sweep, higher cross bar, with Fusion logs
Race version.  Thinner higher cross bar

Nice one Glen, I see a lot of the 2nd type around but not so many 1st Gen?

there was a earlier set than the ones glen talks about ie they were straight as we all rode them and were knurled still and low cross bar  and the second set had more sweep as we all hated them after riding straight bars . i went to peregrine`s after they brought the sweep ones or cowboy bars out as we called them bitd

They pop up on ebay.com sometimes, I'd like a set for the Master as they look great half black/chrome.  :daumenhoch:

All wrong! There were 2 sets between 87 & 88. The first set were swept back. Like holding a wheel barrow. The next set in 1988 were the same but not swept back as much. Then you had the race set with the really high cross bar. Then there was a slight change to the bars in the early 90's with the sweep being made even less raked back and the crossbar being slightly higher again ( compared to 87/88 bars) then in the late 90's they made the same bars but dropped the knurling from the cross bar. And in 2000 you get the oversize version that dave mirra rode. The rarest ones to find are the first generation. Like rocking horse poo to find. But I now have some thanks to Glen.  :daumenhoch:

So that makes 6 versions

Do I get a special prize?

Cheers stu
