I'm heading down to The Brits for the 1st time this weekend, really looking forward to seeing all the action and getting stuck into the racing on Sunday.

Vets here I come ::)

Any one else making the trip and having a pedal?

Will  be watching all you old f*rts and have loaned my latest 20" build to a Gosport rider so will have a vested interest in at least one of the races.  Neither of my sons could be *rsed to qualify for the event this year - they must be getting old!!  See you there.  Humps

35th out of 48 in 20" Vets. I've never seen so many old people on clips  ;)

1st straight is very fast and the start gate was slippy as fook due to it pissing down. Great track though, I just need a bit more practice on it.

An interesting weekend.

it was all hectic, this may not be 100% accurate:

Francis [my lad] got 4/6/7 in the 8s and missed out on his quarter final by 3 points - still did well in a class of 58 riders, wasn't far off top 32.
Billy Fieldhouse was in a tough 45+ class that went straight to an A final and he just missed out.
Arran Brannan [7s] was on it all day and got 7th in A final in his 1st full year of expert racing  :4_17_5:
Flip was riding well in Junior Men but got 5th/6th in his semi, just couldn't find a way past some of the bigger guys...
Sam Avison was bossing the 9s but slipped a pedal on the last straight in his quarter and was 'given' 5th on the line behind a faster finishing rider :knuppel2:

Arran Skow was all set for a podium finish in 15/16 cruiser but went down hard in the first berm and got a pretty bad jaw injury - he did really well to get in the A final on 20" next day (6th/7th?)
Oggy was on form and took 3rd on cruiser and 20", fairly well clear of the rest (35-39 and masters).
Nigel Smith got 4th in 30-34 cruiser :4_17_5:
I got through my motos in 35-39cr no bother and put in a pretty good lap in my quarter - okay gate, jumped/manualled everything I should, no errors and still ended up 7th such was the required standard. This class was SERIOUS all day, hardly any of us on flat pedals for example.
Andy Parks was flying in Masters but couldn't get through traffic in his quarter/semi (?) with a 6th.
Other guys in their first season of expert racing were battling away in their motos all the way to the line, Kieran Stanley, Jesse, Jed Phillips, Paul Phillips [battling away in Vets on his OS steed!]

Some fantastic riding and results from a little unfashionable club without all the factory riders and sponsorships etc  :smitten:

How did Cotty and Critch do ???

Cotty looked made for that track [fairly tech], did ace in motos [won one of them], and was quite unlucky with a 5th in semi/quarterfinal?
Phil had tough as fook motos and rode well but didn't make it through.
Both Masters and Vets was stacked with ex-British Champions, ex-pro riders etc etc. Vets in particular has improved so much since a couple of years ago. Paul Fizz did great just to be in the mix banging bars with them guys on his OS Brackens.

My daughter Imogen got 2nd in 9-10 Girls  :4_17_5:  Well proud considering she's only 9. If she'd had the start in the final she had in the semi I reckon she could have won it but gotta be pleased with 2nd  :daumenhoch:

I was chuffed with 7th in the 40-44 cruisers, well pleased to make the A  :)   I won't mention the 20", not too good in that  :(

Great Weekend, well done everyone  :coolsmiley:
