Splitting
« on: September 18, 2011, 01:35 PM »
I have just secured a super deal on a 1983 'survivor' in beautiful condition. I shall not name the bike or the parts on it but, looking through the wanted section, I know most if not all the parts would be swallowed up by members on here.

The question is though, should I or should I not split it  :-\

If it's a nice survivor, it would be a pity to split it IMHO :(

It is yer but I only need the ........ from it  :coolsmiley: The rest, apart from the chainring, is original to the bike and in great condition to be honest.

I really need the ........ from it though and have no use for the rest  :-\ It will just be sitting in my garage  :(

If no response to this, I will prob just pass it on complete  :(

unless its something that is rare and desired as a complete survivor take what you need off it and split it.  tell us what it is and we can decide for you  ;)

as said its yours to do what you will with but hardly anybody would split a survivor et to be honest , you can get the wheels easy elsewhere , i'd keep it and get the wheels elsewhere and if you sell the et's are one of the few bikes that go well as a complete

Dude, I have struggled to get Black speedlines with HF Suntours for a while now and no-one is giving them up. I can't even get the HF hubs except at ridiculously over-inflated prices  :(

Defo worth what I paid for them  :daumenhoch: They are in really good condition for '83. Gonna have the sidewalls 'shiny sided' and touch up the little line around the hub  :coolsmiley:

I just needed HF hubs really and no luck in trading these yet  :(

if you are keeping both bikes - take the wheels off the et and put the set on it will the low flanges.

get the new build as you want it and wait for a while and the hf will come up to change them back.

best of both worlds..  8)
