Finaly got this resto finished after nearly a year
This is what I got from bmxmuseum. I think 80 quid for frame and shipping to the UK. Was going to try and do an 85 mach one but went months without finding one so settled on this 1990 frame:
Let that sit for a while and got some other parts:
Then about a month ago, started the resto with some yellow hamerite
Said on the tin, no need for primer or laquer, which is true, but found that a lot of coats were needed.
Got some hasin lung landing gear copies and a whw headset of the bay and put it together after letting the paint dry for two weeks
Then got the mongoose crank and tioga spider and the 28tpi bb set of 1mancity2 (much appreciated for that)
Then got the bars and put in an order for some of Firebirds magic and began adding more
Added the seat, (realised after taking the pic that the seat needed to be re adjusted) got some re issue dia compe calipers and tioga seat post
Then added the blue tuffs and kenda tyres
It was at this point I started gettin sidetracked and bought two other frame sets, so the GT sat for about two months untill recently when I thought fook it and bought all the parts that were needed in one go, including the decal set from Del.

Since finishing the paintwork on thisI put in a decade frame, forks, bars and seatpost to the local powder coaters, and they did the lot for 40 quid, so kind of wish I had done the same with this. Definatly wouldn't rattle can a frame again, the ones I have done have come out good but at 40 quid for a pro powder coat it works out cheaper than all the cans of primer paint and laquer.
Even with the hammerite and no primer and laquer, I still needed about 7 cans for the whole lot and they cost about 7 quid a can from the bay.
Still your only a fool if you dont learn from your mistakes
