The bloke im thinking of with the yellow van was tall, blonde and had a flat top... Seem to remember we called him actionman as he was always in green gear ;) pretty sure he was one of the rollerbooters but could be mistaken. I can spot peerless in the background in one of the shots above too, in his usual sideways stance :)

Off topic.... Teds old deck inspired me to buy this many years later when I got into skateboard collecting:

That's actually Robbie Cook in the background skating sidesurf. Universally known as Gummidge back then.

I was taller in those days, before several spine compression took their toll haha..., but never dressed in green and didn't get a flat top until the late 80s lol.....

I had a flat top (and tramlines) for years, until I started riding motorbikes.  Then it was helmet hair.

Loving these kickturn pics though!  Except the ones on pegs ;)

anyway pedal kickturns were for those with a coaster if you wanted to bust any styles.

for those without a coaster it was pegs  :daumenhoch:

Statements like that remind me just how young you are Ed.

There were pretty much no pegs around when my pictures were shot in 83/84.

I suppose you would be right a bit later on, 86/7/8 kinda time.

Whippersnapper....... I hate kids   :knuppel2:

Yeah. Arguably, he was the first rider to run them over here. Home made by his dad I think. Andy 58delray would know.

We were sessioning his 1/4 pipe one weekend and he aired out and drifted way across that little 6ft wide thing, and basically landing in the feeble grind position and rode it out on his wheel nut. I remember thinking then there's possibilities there.... That would have been 83 probably.

I was riding with some kids last night and they were doing lawnmowers. Sure, they were doing lawnmower fufanu's on some tricky bank/subs but its funny how tricks come back round. Even if they have a modern twist.

(picture googled to show the modern trick. Ive no clue who it is)
