Like many people in the 80s my first bmx was a pos then i graduated to another pos(secondhand burner),and gradually swopped and bought parts until i had a bike i was happy with.

That bike was a chrome Rickman Freestyler frame and forks which i got for my birthday around August 85.

Most of the bits from the burner went on it and a few more were swopped/bought until it looked like this............

Parts List

Chrome Rickman FS Frame and Forks
White Rickman FS bars
White Aero Zytecs
Green tuf neck fs stem
Green mushroom odi grips
White Dia Compe tech 3s with white sharp lever grips
Blue Dia compe mx1000 rear
Blue COPY mx1000 front
Burner one piece crank
Sugino blue chainring
Tioga powerdisc
Blue chain
White Elina Flyte Tech
Chrome Reynolds 531 layback
Blue Tioga seatclamp
Silver Victor dx pedals
Green dia compe rear cable
Blue powerglide front cable
Green comp st tyres (They are white cw tyres in the pic but this was my last pic of it)

Then in the summer of 87 i locked it up in Bournemouth town centre, went to the local our price record store, and when i returned it was GONE along with my mates chrome dp firebird.

We were gutted,a few years of bmx memories gone in an instant, never to be seen again >:(

Fast forward 20 odd years and i find rad, build a couple of bikes, but none compare to the Rickman,so the hunt starts for all the bits.......................

And this is what we end up with,as near as i can possibly get to my old bike................

Kind of weird to build it up after all these years, but its as i remember it and i cant stop smiling :LolLolLolLol:

Anyway a few partslist thanks.
I started collecting parts over a two year period so here goes.....

Frame and forks ebay bargain badly listed
Bars came from Del in a trade
Stem-i had to buy a whole bike to get the right green one, then i stripped and repainted it as it was in bad nick :idiot2:
Seat-yannick
Seatpost-cant remember,someone on here
Seatclamp-danny whitely i think
Wheels-Munners
Tyres-Porkchop repros as couldnt find ogs
Levers-ebay were gold but stripped and rattlecanned just like BITD
Brakes-front ebay, rear was a silver one from someone on here,i gave it the blue glass paint treatment :daumenhoch:
Cables-ebay
Crank,chainwheel,powerdisc,so long ago,cant remember who?
Grips and lever grips-Harorider
Pedals,again someone on here.
Del for the missing downtube decal

Thanks guys its been a blast, this ones deffo a keeper!!!!!!!!!! :Great_Britain:

Love it...  :daumenhoch:

I like to see bikes build how we had them BITD.....and not just "factor Rep" ones  :daumenhoch:

Its a credit to you  :4_17_5:
I might actually build a bike this year instead of just hoarding parts :)
