Am i losing all BMX control ?
« on: August 27, 2011, 07:13 PM »
Hi all
You may have seen me about over the last month or two but i have a question...

Is it normal to loose control of what you purchase as on looking at what ive bought ive shocked myself   ;D

I would say i have enough bits to build a fleet of bikes and still want more :LolLolLolLol:  :LolLolLolLol:

i reckon the worst thing is when you sell something, and then buy the same item back 4 months later,at more than you sold it for because your desperate

Welcome to the club, after 7/8 years of this collecting lark I started promising myself that I would stop and slim down the collection a bit.  However since then I have sold 1 and bought 4 so not doing too well.

This makes me feel better as there are days when my cupboards only contain pasta & biscuits!

LOL,i wish   had pasta and biscuits!is it possible to make a meal from:beef stock cubes and coffee?!!im 37 years old, this is ridiculous!i  still need a rotor,a chain,a seat, some inner tubes, grips and then maybe i can build this bike and normal service can be resumed, and i can pay my rent!90% of my mates think ive lost it already!

That sounds like the perfect accompaniment with pasta & biscuits! Round mine for dinner then...?!!
Just keep buying what you want! If you stop what you love doing you will commit murder! Unless they let you build a bike in prison then you can still kill someone if you want! Although i would probably eat better in prison!

thats the problem, this is my first build too and it was only ever my intention to own the bike i had when i was young because i always regretted selling it.However i am afraid it might be the beginning of something unstoppable!it was always my intention to ride the bike i am building but it is turning out a tad too nice to really ride and possibly break, hell i dont even want to lay it down and scratch up my nice chrome kkt's!!so do i build this one and then build another one of the bikes i facied bitd like a pro performer,an RL-20,a streetbeat'same thing would probably happen with them and id be 4 bikes and 10 grand down and still not a bike i would want to ride and ruin!!i can see how it all starts!!i hope i can show more self discipline than i have done in recent weeks and just stop at the 1!as it is i have nowhere to keep it other than to share my bedroomwith the damn thing!!but still,on the upside i get a big grin across my face every time i look at the bits ive got already and im sure it will be even bigger when its a complete working bike!that sort of feeling is kinda priceless and i think is the reason why we all make sacrifices to persue our passions!good news too,i will be earning some money in next couple of days that will at least allow me to eat and pay rent, wont be any money left for bike parts :-( until next week!!!

But you may just spend that money on bike parts instead of rent & boring old food...!

Rightly or wrongly I keep a spreadsheet of all my builds so I know what's been put into them, plus the 'extras' sections which covers tools and surplus parts!!  ;D

But when I opened up the garage this morning I did have a smile on my face when I was greeted by my recently completed Streetstyler!  :daumenhoch:

Believe me shit does as you say happen and it has  :daumenhoch:

As for making notes i have documented every detail expense etc...but its a nightmare working out what something owes you once you have broke it.
For example i bought a silver streak a few months back and only used the f&f and crank the rest was not OE to the bike but since then ive used some of the bits between other bikes..
This has happened with a few of my builds and is a bitch to work costings out  :crazy2:

Regarding the shed thats a big effort but full of mk3 escort junk  ;)  :daumenhoch:
