lowest T freewheel on a standard RHD hub?

is it 14t or can i go any lower?

and if so what sort of size chainring should idealy go with it?

I thought it was an ACS 15t if you can find one, 16t is standard. 14t if you're using the old flip/flop hubs. 
If you go new skool you can go to 8t I think.

for the older size hubs, you can get an AC racing 15t freewheel, they are scarce and not fantastically reliable (hence thy've been knocked on the head)
If you have a 30mm thread size, (mid/late 90's onwards or "flip flop" - hubs with 2 different freewheel thread sizes) you can get good quality odyssey 13t freewheels. They click a bit tho!

Spot on, my lad has an ACS 15t freewheel on his GT.  However, flipflop hubs were around in the 70's and not an invention of the 90's

Rob ya retard, my MRD Badlander you were riding at the Boardroom last time runs a 13T Oddy freewheel on the flip-flop with the 36T Porkchop chainring on it which is why it's got such good coping clearance for an oldschool bike

The come in LHD or RHD so make sure you order the right one mate - my LBS (JE James) sells them for £17.99 if you want me to pick one up and bring it on the 3rd at Boardroom

Work on the ratio of 2.75 : 1

So a 16 suits a 44, 15 suits a 41, 14 suits a 38,  13 suits a 36.

Not set in stone, but that is the rule of thumb.

cheers guys.......Spen my hub isn't flip flop so will have to make do with the 16t and 40 something up front

 i'm running 41/16 with 180 cranks on the sport , not like Spen to get clearence as the bashguard sort of negates the kneed   but it is a nice and easy gearing for park use allows fast accelleration over short distances rather than the useual gear ratio, dont kneed to crank real hard at full speed towards the ramps mainly cos i daren't  , but you can get quite fast with only a few cranks nice in a liitle space ,    have ago  at BR if you like see what ya thinks

Rob, just re-lace a flip-flop in or a n/s cassette 9T drive as 16/15T is hopeless bud....
