How to fix a Haro Circuit board plate. :(
« on: August 24, 2011, 02:44 PM »
Got a NOS one and it was as mint as mint can be. Was fitted to the Haro, no issues. Bike sat in the garage for a few weeks, I got it out to change a few bits over and noticed the plate was split at the very bottom!
It's also started to crack at the points where the numbers are clipped in.
I've tried a tiny amount of general "I stick everything" super glue, but it didn't stick.
I have some plastex, used for fixing motorcycling fairings, just wondered if this might work or if anyone else has had the same thing happened?!

Any help appreciated as ever.

Matt

General super glue isnt very good at sticking plastic. You can get a speciality super glue designed specifically for polycarbonates, polypropelynes, etc.
Unsure what they used to make plates out of but worth a go i recon  :daumenhoch:
Sixteen thirty-two. What is that? A year?   No, it's your top score on Pole Position.

Unfortunately Matt, it sounds like the plastic is breaking after all these years and it's just starting to crack and crumble :(

I bought a NOS board of a mate of mine, still in the original wrapper, and left it on the wardrobe for a very long time. When I came across it I thought, oh, and grabbed it off. As I lifted it up, the thing cracked and crumbled before my eyes  I couldn't believe it :-\

As it was now fooked, I tried it in my hands and most of the board just crumbled so I just put it down to the plastic has given up the ghost  :LolLolLolLol:

Hope it's not the case with yours but sure looks that way  :(
