Bendycats good for the bleaching. If you bleach for too long can it break down the plastic?

120 grit sandpaper, give a gentle rub then use 12/1400 wet'n'dry and they come up gleaming, takes about 2 hours, sack the bleach

Totally agree with that.  I had some in bleach for a week with no success so I took them out and hit them with some wet and dry.  Mine had a discoloured layer of build-up that the bleach wouldn't touch but wet and dry sorted that right out and they were lovely and white once sorted...

I have done Agayguffs

Best bet is to spend time sanding them down and reshaping them right - don't go to harsher grade or you will be just chasing all the line out

I used a stanley razor blade to flattern down the brake rub area - then to take out any chips - then rub down with wet and dry till you get down the grades to a smooth finish

then after a good 2-4 hours, you can then put them in bleach for a few days to a week

do check every day - too much and the plastic can get brittle and start to get dusty when dry

cheers B  ;)

you dont need to put them in bleach, why risk fookin them up when you can see from the pics the results you can achieve with wet'n'dry ::)

bleach just take out any of the impurities and gives them a better white - notice how i said you have to be carefull of how long they have to be in bleach  ;D not to mess them up  ;D

AGAYGUFF - no you flid you can't just yet  :P now go bum splooch  :bondage:

I have recently bought a set of mike buffs that were ..lets say grubby...lots of stains grease etc ... see the pics. I have done a couple of sets of skyways and fine there isn't much difference in the amount of time left in bleach and have only left in for a max of 24 hours. These Z's were left in for only 2 hours. There are still some grey dots in the rims but overall they cam out well. I will be going down the wet and dry route in the future with some new spokes etc as Bendy suggests but my only hesitancy is that Mike Buffs are cream and if I wet and dry they will come up white but I am sure I will then be able to dye them back to cream. Here is how they came out after a quick rub with brillo scourer and a lil bleach. These are now fit for their purpose to go on my Huffy rider... Hopefully I will got it done for the 4th ...  :coolsmiley:
