No contest, 1 1/8 threadless! Stronger, a headset that doesn't come loose all the time & easier to set up

Yeh...deffo 1&1/8 Brummie 1" is for losers, like comparing meat with quorn.
My 1" ripper headtube with 1"1/8th forks fitted. This is quite an easy conversion! And you get the best of both worlds. Old school frame with new school tech.
ahead sets way better - while on the subject, did you know that you could actually run 1/8" threadless on a frame that is made for 1" threaded - just slam in the bearings of the aheadset into 1" cups, works a treat. I ran a skyway for a bit doing this with 1/8" threadless pitchforks
i have A 24" GT pro series that takes a 1" threadless head set. i was thinking to get a Quill adapter instead of the old skool Stems, then i could put a new Skool one on it but wil that make any difference? it seems not

If you search hard enough, you can find 1" clamp on stems and forks.

the single greatest thing to happen to the bmx bike.
