Red Skyways sealed (New ones)
« on: August 18, 2011, 01:04 PM »
Hi,

Anyone know the best place to buy a set of red skyways? I've seen alot of pink and orange but no red.

Some on the bay but they are from the US and costly, I could never find any new ones so I gave up in the end and got some white ones  :daumenhoch:

Try Parkers of Bolton, they seem the cheapest place and might be able to get them in for you  :daumenhoch:

The alloy hub re - issues have alledgedly been reproduced using the original dye, materials, moulds and old stock hubs  :-\

As for the colour, most you see are nearly 30 years old, have sun fade or been re-dyed. So I'm guessing that if they have used the same dye, then they are the original colour  :daumenhoch:  :coolsmiley:

I guess I will see in 30 years bro  :LolLolLolLol:

Yes they look much darker, dont think its the pic???

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/250868663082?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dm570.l2736%26_nkw%3D250868663082%2B%26_fvi%3D1&_rdc=1

I'm sure they couldn't get their hands on the original red pigment they used BITD so they are more of a blood red.  They obviously got hold of the correct pigment when they knocked out the ally hubbed ones as they look bang-on...
