MK11 Vintage Racer (70's) Show and Shine Winner
« on: August 09, 2011, 12:50 PM »
So proud that my DeCoster won the 70's section, some really, really hot builds in that section from the likes of Bobafett, In2bmx, Kungfunky etc.

The category was sponsored by Classic BMX magazine and I have been told that the bike will be featured in a future edition so really happy about that.

Somehow mine won it but wow it must have been a close thing.

I also was told that my pictures of the bike in the past were sh*t so here are some new better ones.

Its won for the last 4 years hasnt it ?

Craig, it placed 2nd in the Vintage Race S&S at MK08, 2nd in the Vintage Race S&S at MK09 but also won Best Bike of Show at MK09 and won its class this year.

Now it has retired as Carl (In2bmx) and Ash (Kungfunky) build better bikes and they scare me to death with the detail of their bikes, so I am running away with my trophy and retiring (yes I am a chicken sh*t).  :LolLolLolLol:

This is one of my favourites.
Checking the paint out in the sun was a real pleasure, that blue candy just looks awesome. The whole bike is a class act.
Nice to see some decent pics to help the memories of seeing it come flooding back. :coolsmiley: :coolsmiley:

Really nice that Sean, the back wheel in particular, radial lacing on the non drive side, cant beat a bit of 70's roadie influence, which matches the cranks perfectly  ;) did Decoster have it like that or is that your thang?
Whats the matter Kid, don't ya like clowns? Don't we make you laugh? Aint we fukkin funny?

lovely bike that, now I'm older I like the 70's style more and more (as a kid I thought they looked too old-fashioned and was too excited by the new stuff coming through)

even the name conjures up memories of the 70s  :daumenhoch:
