9/16 pedal...whats the Thread pitch?

Can anybody tell me the Pitch of the pedal thread on my 9/16 pedals please,Need this as I need to know what size heli-coil kit to buy,I'm sure its 12mm but dont know the pitch

As said, 9/16" x 20 tpi (treads per inch)

NOT 12mm x anything

The diameter of the pedals shaft is 12mm,you need to find the correct 'Pitch' of the thread (the distance between each thread ) to be able to buy the correct hel-Coil kit?
At this rate I'll have to nip it down the local garage and measure  it with their gauge

If it's 20 TPI, then divide 20 threads by 25.4mm. That will give you the MM you need 

That works out 0.78mm per thread.

You won't be able to get m12 x 0.78 

It's NOT metric

The 'pitch' is 20 threads per inch (9/16" x 20tpi)

French pedal spindles use M14 x 1.25 (14 mm/0.55 in metric diameter with 1.25 mm or 0.049 in pitch) threads, and thread loosely into a 9/16 pedal hole.

You can also cut the correct threads for pedals on the heli-coil, I have a set of 9/16 pedal taps (left and right tap) that you can use if you need them.
