that the adjuster mechanism on mx1000 is made of brass, thats why it tarnishes...   


but is the way of taking the black plastic adjuster off the brass bit without distroying it?

never actually done it but i would imagine it should pull off with a bit force and hopefully click back on. if you try it don't blame me if it doesn't click into place.

ok i popped the metal sticker off and this is what i found, it looks like an outer holding ring has been press fitted to the inner spindle thus holding the adjuster in place

if you try and force it off in any way it snaps the adjuster
