New bike help please** mongoose**

New bike help please i have been told this is a 1990 Mongoose Sniper but would like to know if any of you could point me in the right direction before i start.My bro who is a few years younger remembers them around that age.

Thanks for the reply's yes it was age we were after my bro said it was 96' also as he remembers looking at them befroe he got his diamond back.Well been playing a bit and have it now like this.

ah, so its a spot the difference competition.
my guess is grips, bar pad, dustcaps, seat lowered, bars tilted.

oops i did not put anything sorry took it apart sorted all the bearing's,new chain, new donut's(still has it's mongoose grips),pad,and dust cap's.My bro was sure they only had the peg's on the right hand side when new so that's were they are back to.

get them bars back mate!
set them so they are inline with the forks.
when they were new they just had pegs on the back. which is shite.
do as you have done, and run the pegs on your grind side
i remember those bikes, and also i rode with people who rode them (and similar)
they were fairly lightweight, but with a low spec. although the frame geo was good.
the forks were prone to bending, and if it has a steel crank (not chromo) then replace it soon as possible.
you'll know if its plain steel. it will bend in no time at all

Right bars are back and white donuts now checked the crank and it has cro-mo on it.It is very light just been down shop on it

thats more like it
also, unless you are very small, angle them brake levers down a bit too mate!
apart from that, it's looking good. a good example of when a low end mongoose was actually good to ride, before they all went fat tubed.
