Help: Haro RS2 rear brake with 1 1/8 rims!
« on: July 23, 2011, 03:48 PM »
Hi All,
Having a few issues trying to get the rear brake/ rim lined up. On these photos there's no freewheel, but I don't think that would have any effect!
Basically because these rims are so narrow there doesn't seem to be enough adjustment on the brake pads?!

Any ideas?!

 :)
Cheers
Matt

are you going to riding /racing it?  put smaller caliper on it somthing like a road bike calliper with shorter arms .. you'll be able to sit the axle centre in the dropout then , shorter/ smaller caliper will work better too , mx 1000 type realy on work well down to 1.5 rim, other option is newer blocks with the toe in spacers on but i looks like you might stuggle getting em to alighn up on the rim with that caliper

if that's an mx 1000 you got on it you could try an mx900. it's a little bit shorter and may reach better. not sure what these came fitted with, maybe a bulldog brake?

you're gonna need mini-callipers for that to work properly.

Looks way better, just need to adjust the brake pads otherwise you're going to catch the tyre :)

I think that's just some photo trickery, it's all setup ok.  :daumenhoch:
