easy fix yourself.  Strip em out, loads of places to buy the spokes, give the rims a polish and there is a great wheel building tutorial in the tech section.  It's a lot easier than you'd think.  Give it a go  :daumenhoch:

I have restored 4 sets of wheels now and I have come to the conclusion: its not worth the hassle..  You spend £100 of a average set of wheels that need 3+ hours of attention just to get them to 'nice rider' condition.  Alternatively, you spend 130 to 150 for the same pair mint..  Is your time worth 10/hour??

..just my thoughts..

can see the logic but it depends whether you were going to do something useful instead for those 3 hours - better to do that than watch telly for example
but then I can talk - mine went off to someone else to be laced up

I did polish off all the paint spots from the rims myself though and have started shiny-siding them by hand  will finish that when I get them back as it was taking fooking ages
as spen mentioned in another thread it's nice to put a bit of your soul into it - can be very satisfying tinkering and it helps prolong the build so you're not immediately thinking "what's next"

it is easier than you think, just need to make sure you have the correct size spokes for your rims and hub.....oh and the way you lace em (3x or 4x) and trueing them is easy as well if you take your time  :daumenhoch:

my time is free to me, and like Griff says it beats sitting infront of the box having to watch fooking Holby city or the likes!  ::)   ;D
