1981 Torker MX
« on: June 30, 2011, 11:39 AM »
I was planning on doing the Eddie Fiola BMXA August 82 cover Torker.

But I 'm beginning to doubt that I 'm ever going to get it right...
Not sure if I wanna spent 1000+ on Grafite tuffs from back in the day.
And maybe same thing for the pinchless flights...
Or this might be a decade long project np..

Anyway, I had these other great parts that where actually perfect for a 81 Torker build.
More specificly sept. 80 Z-rims and a yellow addicks sprock  :daumenhoch:
So decided to get those parts on it and some others to make the bike look complete,
for the fun of it.

Instant yellow fever  ;)

Mind the Bottema's  ;)  :D

like it yannick the way its done it looks like a survovor from back in the day, as i remember hardly any bikes were perfectly colour coded they were made up from bits you picked up here and there , as it looks now its like a barn find in a good way  :daumenhoch:

I like the idea of th 19 year project Yan  :LolLolLolLol:

That Fiola cover bike has got to be a favorite of many collectors the world over  :smitten:

Hell you're not that far away , with the frame ,forks ,seat already  :smitten:

However as it is ,,it's a real great looking bike with bags and bags of character  why change it :coolsmiley:

That's got to be a keeper  :daumenhoch:

 Love it

Thanks for the Torker history. Great read.

And the JT website link. This guy has the greatest builds. Hands down.
Good idea about actually contacting him about parts info.

The bike does look like a barnfind. I'm starting to like it like that.
It has some flakes of chrome missing on the headtube were the cups go in.
Chrome isn't 100% no rust though.
And not sure if it's the same frame as Fiola used in that picture.
I think the one I have is smaller. Not sure. it seems small.
I don't know that much about Torker.

I printed the history,
going to have myself a read,
in the swing chair on the porch with ol' yeller at my feet.

Thanks guys and yea why not leave it like this for now.
Maybe get some old Torker forks to switch with the Bottemas.
So I can use them on my rider untill the time comes ;)
