Qualified for Aussie worlds bitd, local press phoned up to try to get me some funding to get there but I was seeing some bird who didn't know I rode a BMX,so I told the press I'd decided to give up as I didn't want this lass to see me in the paper....2 weeks later Jools Allen was in the paper for the same reason and got some backing and went to Oz,at the time I wasn't too bothered but looking back I really should have gone for it...teens eh!!!

I have very few regrets, but like you sold my Haro Freestyler to buy a set of Revolution Alloys from Lee Shurey to put on my Escort Mexico....

That was a good deal, Revolutions were the bollocks, I had a set on my Lotus Cortina  :daumenhoch:

Just thought of another one - that I've harped on about in other threads. Leaving my CW Z-500 pit bike with red Skyways with an ex-missus, and coming to pick it up to find she'd sent it to the tip.

Also lending my Freeway Aero to Alan 'Fat Arse' Kemp and watching him snap the seatstays away from the seattube after he'd popped a layback on it......

Anyway, on a more positive note no regrets and more than happy that I'm still riding in me late 30's  :daumenhoch:

Regrets, I've had a few...off the top of My head

Only riding on & off in the earlier part of the 90's for various reasons...
Giving away early GT Performer, Haro Sport & Master frames when having a clearout!
Cutting up a Rickman freestyler for some tubing to make a platform for another frame!
Not getting My back, shoulder & knee problems sorted sooner
Not getting off My ass to get out riding enough now
Do you grovel to your master? Do you beg like a dog?

So excited about getting my Honda SS50 on the road at 16, I gave my GT away!!  Didn't think at the time Joanne Kemp would be impressed if I rolled up at her house on a BMX trying to impress.   :-*   Sh*t happens........

Selling my TA to pay towards a set of spot lights for my Mini

Flogging my Pro Class to pay for a Kenwood Multi CD player for the mini.

and getting too old and fat to ride a bike  :coolsmiley:
I might actually build a bike this year instead of just hoarding parts :)

My biggest regret was feeling embarrased about still riding a bmx at 16, fook me what was i thinking of back in 1982?
Second biggest regret was chucking all my spares in a box and leaving it over a park in walthamstow so the local kids could help theirself :crazy2:

trying to show off doing a frame stand over the finish line yesterday, after 30 miles of pedaling
my legs turned to jelly as I stood up and I was lucky not to fall on my face and look even more of a tit

Not staying in the pack at the Mansfield National semi-final in 1997.

Went a bit too high to stay out of the pack and get some real power of the berm and got bumped right to the top and had to brake.  :idiot2: I had the rest of the track completely dialed that day. I know I would have made my first (and only) National Final if I’d have just stayed in the pack.

Still haunts me today.  :'(

Not stopping my old man slinging my brothers CW Phaze 1 in the skip because 'it's in the way and you don't use it anymore' I have one now but it cost me big bucks.

For a pair of car speakers and a crappy stereo...incidentally does anyone know what bars I hvae on this as I can't remember (possible re-creation on the way if I can find a reasonably priced DP Delta II F&F). Pic is prob a bit small on reflection! Actually, pic is FAR TOO small...Pro Class Arayas, DP Delta II, red comp III's, uni graphite seat, red DID chain....DICK!!!
