Oh jesus. Ive seen the results of a full face on the track down our local, it was not pretty, was picking teeth out of the gravel and 12months down the line his face is still screwed

oooo poor little chap, biggest gasps from the trackside is when the little uns go down , can see all the parents twitch and move forward to catch em .

I think that's called a windmill but I've never tried it on gravel

i fell off a while back,broke my shoulder in 3 places

(had to drive home 10 miles ouch) anyways there was gravel stuck into my helmet ,so id hate to think what wouldve happened to me if it had come off ,might not be here now!!!!!

On some motorbike trackdays, they check that your lid is properly done up.

Cant this be done for the youg bloke on their way to or at the gate?

They used to look under the chins of all the kids when my lad used to race MX when they used to come to the start gate, I have found BMX racing to be quite slack in that department

, maybe its not as statistically as dangerous

I always have to check my 3 boys and keep on at them before thay go on the track as they do get complacent !!!!!

They always make an announcement regarding helmet straps in the North Region.

And very often one of the officials and the gate operator will ask riders to 'strap up'...

That's how it should be

as long as they don't ask them to "strap on"
