Mongoose Identification Required Please

I am trying to identify what the following frame is for someone, they tell me they also have the forks but this is all I have to go on at the moment :coolsmiley:

Frame No. M80E23280

Can any Mongoose based experts help at all ???

....or is the clue on the seat post decal "expert" :crazy2:

Thats a Californian made at the Merida factory, Taiwan, June 1988....

look at the 87 cat

expert was available in classic chrome
but the decals had changed

double check the serial

Yeah might be an Expert then.

The earlier 'experts' seat stay was welded above the top tube.

from just those pics i would say 83 / 84 expert
but that don't tie to the serial provided  :-\

85 had same decals but rivet fixed head badge not a decal

86 had different decals

87 decals had changed again

thats not to say those decals weren't applied later in its life though . . . .   ???

I would say it could be an 87 - 88 expert, the earlier experts ie 83 had seat stays that were welded above the TT like i have already stated.
